Mind Springs Health is Summit County’s Community Mental Health Center. Mind Springs serves patients with Medicaid, they offer crisis care, detox services and psychiatric services. Providers

Hillary Sunderland, LCSW, LAC, EMDR

Hillary is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Addiction Counselor and Certified EMDR Therapist. Hillary specializes in anxiety disorders and trauma (childhood, complex or acute). She treats one’s symptoms using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and always incorporating mindfulness. Hillary works with a population over 12 years old.  

 

Marissa Gore, LPC

Marissa Gore is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado who works primarily with adults. Marissa is also the Jail Based Behavioral Services (JBBS) clinician for Summit County who provides individual and group therapy to individuals that are incarcerated in the jail. Marissa’s practice style is goal-oriented and client-centered, and she utilizes evidenced based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Marissa’s specialty areas include the following: substance use disorders, Schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders, depression, anxiety, grief/bereavement, and criminal thinking and behavior.

 

Susan Toys, LPC

Susan considers herself to be primarily a relationship counselor and has spent the majority of her 30 year counseling career focused on couples and family systems therapy. Her specialties include facilitating Dialectical Behavior Therapy which is an enhanced version of CBT; teaching mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.   Similarly, she also offers Seeking Safety groups to teach coping skills for women with substance abuse and trauma issues.  As individuals progress in managing their currently daily challenges, some benefit from addressing their PTSD diagnoses. Although she doesn’t consider it a specialty, she is trained in EMDR.

 

Kristen Greenwald, MSW

Kristen Greenwald has her Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver, with a Certificate in Animal-Assisted Social Work.  Kristen specializes in Child and Family Therapy.  Kristen utilizes treatment modalities such as Play Therapy, Horticultural Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. She served as a School-Based Therapist and worked at the Tennyson Center for Children in Denver as a Youth Treatment Counselor, as well as a residential treatment center for children and youth in crisis

 

Tyler Bowen, LPC

Tyler has worked in the community mental health field for 14 years in a variety of roles. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes in the importance of helping others identify their motivation for change and assisting them in this process. Tyler engages in several treatment modalities, to best address client needs, but regularly utilizes client-centered and cognitive-behavioral interventions. During his time with Mind Springs Health he has served clients through various treatment roles including crisis engagement, addiction treatment, individual and group therapy. He is currently providing diagnostic evaluations for individuals seeking treatment support with both mental health and substance use concerns.

 

Jeanette Kintz, LPC, LAC, MAC

Jeanette has worked for Mind Springs for over 15 years, in a variety of roles.  Her specialty is addictions and trauma, while she also treats many mental health disorders.  She clinically supervises the Frisco staff and the Detox facility.  She is an OBH approved trainer for the Certified Addictions Counselor program.  She clinically manages and provides treatment for the participants of the Summit County Recovery Court program.
