Ice Cream. 2. Water fights. 3. Staying up past your bedtime and being allowed to watch TV.” This is how a seven-year-old child begins a list of all the things that make life wonderful. They’re making the list for their mother\, who suffers from depression. As life goes on\, and the challenges faced morph from childhood to adulthood\, the list continues to grow and take on a life of its own. By shining a hilarious and compassionate light on life’s small abundant joys\, this big-hearted play—told in gentle collaboration with the audience—is a loving tribute to resilience and the lengths we will go to for those we love. \nThe production contains descriptions of depression and suicide. The topics are handled with care\, and the story is one of resilience and hope.  \nRecommended for Ages 12 and up. \nThe artistic and production team includes: Huy Nguyen (Actor)\, Keith Parham (Scenic & Lighting designer)\, Huy Nguyen & Jacqueline Stone  (Costume design)\, Joe Court (Sound designer)\, Becky Warner (Stage Manager)\, Jacqueline Stone (Producing Artistic Director)\, Branden Smith (Creative Producer). \nEVENT DETAILS: \nTitle: EVERY BRILLIANT THING \nBy Duncan Macmillan\, with Jonny Donahoe \nDirected by Jacqueline Stone \nFeaturing Huy Nguyen \nLocation: Breckenridge Theater\, 121 South Ridge St.\, Breckenridge\, CODates: \nRegular run: Wed\, March 12 – Sat\, April 5\, 2025 \nCurtain times: Wed – Sat at 7:00pm \nOpening Night: Fri\, March 14 at 7:00pm \nTickets: $15 – $60. There are a limited number of $15 tickets for every performance to lower the barrier to participation. All reservations must be claimed no later than 15 minutes before a performance or they will be released. All seats are general admission. In 1976\, the theatre incorporated as Summit County’s first non-profit\, with a desire to bring live performance to the community. The artistic vision has continued to evolve and over the years has been awarded with numerous Colorado Theatre Guild and True West Awards. In 2010\, BBT received the prestigious Colorado Theatre Guild – Outstanding Regional Theatre Award. In 2012\, the Breckenridge Town Council approved a $2.55 million renovation of the Breckenridge Theater. Construction on the building began in Spring 2015 and completed in June 2016. Today it serves as the company’s main performance space in addition to use of the 750 seat Riverwalk Theatre space as needed. In 2022\, the company led a national search for new leadership and recently appointed Chicago veteran arts leader Jacqueline Stone as Producing Artistic Director\, tasked with leading the next phase of organizational growth and strategy. Annually the theatre produces 5-6 main stage productions\, one community production\, one youth production\, and a full set of classes and summer camps for ages 3 – 21.
