[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_divider color=”#fdb467″ divider_position=”center” divider_weight=”3px” _builder_version=”4.19.3″ max_width=”50px” custom_margin=”0px||7px||false|false” animation_style=”slide” animation_intensity_slide=”10%” animation_starting_opacity=”100%” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_divider][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_line_height=”1.3em” custom_margin=”0px||||false|false” custom_padding=”0px||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]In November of 2018, Summit County voters passed Referred Measure 1A Strong Future. There are five separate funding components within the Measure.\u00a0 Funding areas included early care and education, zero waste management, forest fire mitigation, capital improvements and support for mental health improvements. The mental health portion of 1A Strong Future is approximately two million dollars annually for ten years.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Roughly, $200,000- $300,000 of the earmarked funds will go directly to Building Hope to assist with the coordination and administration of a comprehensive mental health system in Summit County. The rest of the 1A Strong Future mental health funds will be distributed through a request for proposal process (RFP) facilitated by Summit County Government, Innovela Consulting and Building Hope. Summit County Government will be issuing the RFP\u2019s for various high need areas within the mental health spectrum of services. Dr Nancy VanDeMark will be providing technical assistance in creating the RFP\u2019s and providing content expertise to establish outcomes for funding areas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Building Hope\u2019s role is to convene a committee of experts to review the proposals solicited from the RFP process and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on what project to fund. Once the recommendation is accepted by the BOCC, the County will sign a contract with the successful applicant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Building Hope is currently accepting applications for positions on the 1A Strong Future Mental Health Review Committee and is seeking qualified applicants for the committee. To ensure community needs, and interests are represented, the Review Committee will need to have representation from the several community sectors.<\/p>\n
