Get Involved with Your Community
At Building Hope, we believe that mental health is something we nurture together. The heart of our work comes alive when community members step forward to connect, contribute, and create a culture of belonging. When you show up—whether by volunteering, attending an event, or simply sharing your voice—you’re not only strengthening our community, you’re also helping reduce the stigma around mental health.
Did you know that nearly two-thirds of people struggling with mental health challenges don’t seek help because of stigma, fear, or shame? Each time we talk about mental health openly, we chip away at these barriers and create a safer, more supportive culture.
Volunteer Ambassador Program
Our Volunteer Ambassador Program is one of the best ways to plug in. Ambassadors represent Building Hope at community events, spread the word about our programs, and help ensure people know that support is available. Simply by being present, talking about mental health, and answering questions, ambassadors help break down stigma and remind people that reaching out for help is a sign of strength—not weakness.
HYPE, Connectedness, and Family Events
We host events throughout the year that center around Hope, Youth, Parents, and Everyone (HYPE), as well as family-centered gatherings and connectedness workshops. These events are about more than just getting together—they’re about reducing isolation, strengthening relationships, and showing our community that mental health is something we can talk about openly. Every time you attend, you’re helping normalize the conversation and chip away at stigma.
Community Calendar
In addition to our own programming, Building Hope also maintains a Community Calendar that highlights other mental health–related events happening across the county. Research shows that stigma is one of the biggest barriers to seeking support—but when people see their community showing up for workshops, trainings, or support groups, it sends a powerful message: it’s okay to talk about mental health, and it’s okay to ask for help.
Community Share Form
One of the most powerful tools we’ve created is our Community Share Form. This simple resource allows you to tell us what’s happening in your world—what needs you’re seeing, what ideas you have, or what you think would make our community stronger. When you take the time to share, you’re helping shape programming that meets real needs while also sending a clear message: it’s okay to talk about challenges, and it’s okay to ask for support. Every idea shared helps dismantle stigma and makes space for more honest conversations.
Your Ideas Matter
Building Hope isn’t just an organization—it’s a living, breathing movement shaped by community input. When you share an idea, attend an event, or volunteer, you’re not only strengthening mental health resources, you’re helping normalize the truth that mental health matters for everyone. Together, we reduce stigma by showing up, speaking out, and supporting one another.
