Building Hope Summit County

Dear Summit County Mental Health Professionals,

Happy November! We hope this message finds you well. Enclosed please find a slew of updates for your perusal. Please contact info@buildinghopesummit.org with any questions.

As November rolls in, Summit County welcomes a new wave of seasonal workers. These dedicated individuals help make the winter season run smoothly, working long hours and bringing energy to our community. However, with the joys of the season also come challenges, as many of these workers face isolation, financial pressures, and the stress of being far from home.

This month let’s remember to support the well-being of our seasonal workforce. Together, we can create a supportive environment by offering resources, fostering a sense of community, and encouraging conversations around mental health. Small efforts—like extending a warm welcome, providing accessible support, or just being there to listen—can make a big difference. Thank you for helping us build a community that feels like home for everyone.

A Message to Providers Accepting Elevate Health Plans from Denver Health Medical Plans/ Elevate Health Plans and Peak Health Alliance

Dear Provider,

The Center for Medicaid and Medicare (CMS) recently updated their behavioral health (BH) billing guidelines for the Mid-level BH practitioners. They updated the Mid-level to pay at 75% of the Medicare Fee schedule and several of your claims were impacted starting 1.1.24. This update took place after your contract was configured at % of the regular fee schedule. Therefore, we are making a manual fix to allow your claims to pay per your contract without the mid-level reduction regardless of practitioner type as an exception to the CMS updates. This fix will take several months for us to implement. It requires manual coding and configuration changes to design the system to pay at a custom rate that matches your contract. We estimate this may take until 12/31/24 but we will strive to complete it sooner and we will inform you once it is complete. All effected claims will be reprocessed back to your contract start date once our fix is fully implemented.

You do not need to take any action. The implementation of this solution is 100% within the Denver Health Medical Plan team. Please be aware you will receive updated remits each time a claim adjusts, and this may be confusing for your billing departments. Please be advised that you should not hold any claims or pause care for members while we correct these claims.

Feel free to reach out with any questions on these remits. We understand the inconvenience this has caused, and we truly do appreciate your patience.  For questions, please email your Elevate Peak Rep or email ManagedCare.ProviderRelations@dhha.org

Thank you,

Denver Health Medical Plans/ Elevate Health Plans and Peak Health Alliance
