RAVI’S PROVIDER UPDATES

Dear Summit County Mental Health Professionals,

Happy February! We hope this message finds you well. Enclosed please find a slew of updates for your perusal. Please contact ravi@buildinghopesummit.org with any questions.

Provider PRC Survey

Important Survey for Providers:

Building Hope Summit County and Eagle Valley Behavioral Health are working together again to conduct a behavioral health survey of our counties on behalf of the Katz Amsterdam Foundation. We participated in this survey in 2020 and 2022 and found the data to be invaluable for assessing our current services and programs and directing our community collaboration for the future.

Please use this link to access the PRC survey for mental health providers in Summit County. Your feedback is crucial for us to help improve quality of life for Summit locals: www.PRCsurvey.com/begin/MountainBehHealthprovider.

Building Hope News

Workflow Reminder: Bridge Scholarships

Building Hope may issue 4 sessions instead of 12 for some clients with health insurance. If you see a client with 4 sessions in your Mtn Strong provider portal, please verify their benefits and get back to Ravi to inform him of the fees associated with your scholarship client’s mental health visits.

If the client has an affordable, flat copay, we will discontinue the scholarship and transition them to insurance so you can provide them with longer term sustainable care. If the client’s copay is unaffordable, or the client has to meet their deductible, we will unlock the rest of the scholarship for the full 12 sessions.

We will try to verify benefits ourselves before sending you a client, but in cases where this is not possible, we will ask our providers to support us in discerning whether our clients could have potential care options through insurance. This will also help us ensure that our charitable funding is used for those that need it the most.

Provider profile updates:

The following specialties have been added as searchable options for your profile on Building Hope’s Provider Directory:

  • Psychedelic-assisted Psychotherapy

  • Ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy

  • Psychedelic Prep & Integration

  • Compassion Fatigue

  • Perinatal

  • Veterans

  • First Responders

The following payor sources have been added as well:

  • Crime Victims Compensation Fund

  • Second Wind Fund

  • iMatter

  • Carelon Behavioral Health

  • TriWest

Please email Ravi to have your profile updated. If you’d like to see any other additions to the list of searchable specialties, treatment orientations and insurances, please reach out with suggestions.

It’s Tax Season!

1099s were issued per IRS guidelines on January 26th. Please look for an email from Track 1099 & W2 (no-reply@track1099.com) with the subject line “1099-NEC from Building Hope Summit County” You’ll click the button that says “Retrieve your 1099-NEC” and enter the info needed to authenticate. Remember to use your Business EIN rather than your Social Security Number if that is what’s registered with Building Hope. Questions? Email finance@buildinghopesummit.org

Please note that scholarship program providers will receive two 1099s, one from Vail Health for your main payment of $100 per session, and one from us for your additional surcharge to make you whole at your rate.

Vail Health 1099:

You will receive a 1099 by both mail and email to the addresses that Vail Health has on file from your Mountain Strong account. For tax documents, the mailing address Vail Health has on file is the address indicated on your submitted W9. Please note that you will not receive a 1099 if you made less than $600 from Mountain Strong/Vail Health. You are only required to file a 1099 if you make $600 or more from a contracting company. If you have questions or do not receive your 1099, please reach out to accounts_payable@vailhealth.org

New Provider Rates in 2024

While we await the advent of the new contracts for Mountain Strong, please note that your rate will increase by about 10% for 2024. We will also cease paying surcharges from Building Hope for your scholarship appointments, and all payments will come directly and only from Vail Health.

SAVE THE DATE: March Provider Social Mixer

Priority Deadline: Tuesday, March 5, 2024

Registration norms, expectations, and kind asks:

As a reminder, this training is being offered for Colorado clinicians (psychologist, psychiatrist, counselors, etc.) and/or other behavioral health providers working in clinical settings and providing ongoing behavioral health care.

We are encouraging interested participants to apply as soon as possible for priority consideration, as we have a very strict capacity limit for each training. Please reach out early if you have a conflict and would like to request another date.

If you feel there is a high likelihood you won’t be able to attend a training, we kindly ask that you do not register at this time. Our office provides this training free of charge, and we often run into situations where interested participants will register and then no-show, or cancel too close to the training date to fill their space. We almost always reach capacity for our CAMS trainings and manage a waitlist of providers who are eager to attend. No-shows and last-minute cancellations unfortunately take away opportunities for others to participate. We want to be sure everyone has an equitable opportunity to take advantage of this highly sought-after opportunity.

Before attending the role-playing course, participants will need to complete a ~4-hr online video course, so earlier registration will help provide enough time to complete the video course. To learn more about the CAMS training and it’s requirements, please visit https://cams-care.com/

Please feel free to reach out to kaleigh.kessel@state.co.us if you have any questions.

Due to great interest and limited training spots, the application process is competitive. This training is available to graduate students at the University of Denver and community providers in the state of Colorado. Our team will review your application and contact you regarding the status of your application.

Please learn more and submit your application here.
