Mucho gusto, my name is Amairani Alamillo. As a first-generation Mexican-American woman, I understand the importance of intersectionality. Oftentimes, I was placed in a box by others; neither fitting in aquí o allá. I am a bilingual licensed professional counselor, licensed addiction counselor, and national certified counselor only providing telehealth in Colorado. I specialize in working with underserved communities such as migrants, immigrants, first generation, people of color, LGBTQIA2S+, and Spanish speakers.

My approach to therapy is collaborative; I will walk alongside you and ask reflective questions, but I will never tell you what to do. I believe each person is their own expert in their lives.

My expertise is working with youth, adults, couples, and families experiencing adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorders, and intergenerational traumas. I am trained in EMDR; thus, facilitating an alternative approach to “talk therapy.”

I primarily work from a developmental model encompassing choice theory/reality therapy, with a strength based perspective and feminist therapy techniques. I appreciate you taking the first step towards healing and I thank you for choosing me to go on this journey with you.
