Jackie is a bilingual (English and Spanish) mental health professional with a great passion for working with children, adolescents, and families. She believes that childhood development is crucial in determining adulthood and overall quality of life, and sees effective intervention in childhood as paramount to optimal growth and development.
Jackie works from a Cognitive Behavioral and Developmental Psychological approach, with elements of Trauma-informed therapy interspersed. Seeing through the lens of the Neuroscience Play therapy, she utilizes play therapy to address the thinking patterns (cognitions), behaviors, and emotions of the child, taking into account the environment and interpersonal relationships, as well as the child’s current developmental stage. Jackie focuses on a team approach, communicating clearly with parents/caregivers, teachers, and any other professionals (doctors, pediatricians, speech therapists, etc.) who may also be working for the welfare of the child, to create a strong supportive team.

Jackie worked as a Child Psychologist in South America for 4 years, and is excited about her recent move to Boulder, Colorado.

Jackie loves animals and deeply respects nature. She plans to incorporate Animal Assisted Therapy into her therapeutic work with children and families.
