I believe in empowering my clients to recognize the strengths in themselves to deal with life’s challenges. For 20 years, I have provided therapy to children, adolescents  and families in the areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment, parenting and divorce.  I work collaboratively with my clients to identify their treatment goals and believe in the importance of establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship to affect change. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches based on the individual needs and goals of the client.  My work with youth addresses identity development, increasing self-awareness and building self-esteem, problem solving, learning healthy coping skills, safely regulating emotion and self advocacy.

I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and also provide Animal Assisted Therapy with my therapy dog, Olive, a 5 year old chocolate lab.  Olive supports the therapeutic process with her calming presence by helping to establish a sense of safety, build rapport, practice skills and improve self esteem and confidence.

As a trained Road Runners Club of America Coach, I also provide run, walk, and talk therapy (Mind+Motion) in which we take our sessions outside and address therapeutic goals while walking or running.  I recommend run, walk, and talk therapy for older adolescents and adults who want an alternative approach to therapy and/or would prefer to be active during their therapy session. To learn more about this approach to therapy please contact me.
