Hello! My name is Melissa and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist utilizing a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to the therapeutic process and believe that every individual I meet with holds their own unique potential to overcome life’s inevitable challenges by harnessing inner strengths and resilience. I see both adolescents and adults in our plant-rich office setting, or can meet clients outside on nature trails or in a horticultural therapy garden.
In addition to traditional modes of talk therapy, like CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness, I am trained in EMDR and believe that a great amount of healing can be done by reprocessing traumas, maladaptive memories, and negative core beliefs that affect us in our everyday lives. In addition, I can incorporate nature-based interventions in our sessions.
Beyond individual therapy offerings, I run a Women’s DBT group called Building Resiliency, and serve as a lead clinician for Wild Youth Passages, an Adventure-Based and Ecotherapy intensive group therapy program. Should you be interested, I would love to connect with you and see if you might be a good fit for individual therapy or one of the groups!
