Building Hope Event Guidelines
Building Hope warmly welcomes Summit County residents and workers to free community events.
We are committed to creating inclusive experiences, though there are limits to the individual accommodations we can provide for public offerings. We appreciate your engagement with our programs and are committed to working with you as best we can within our mission and capacity.
Event Registration: Registration of all attendees participating in our events is required. This supports Building Hope s reporting requirements for our funders.
Items such as the participant’s age and emergency contact information (phone and email) must be accurate and will be shared with those who have a need to know.
The registration information is stored in Eventbrite and subject to that website s privacy policies available at https://www.eventbrite.com/help/en-us/articles/460838/eventbrite-privacy-policy/
There are some events for which our vendors require additional potentially identifying information, such as height, weight, etc. These also need to be accurate for the participant s safety.
Photos: As stated on the order form, by registering, participants are consenting to photos being taken at the event. These photos are used in reporting to those who fund our programs, along with our marketing efforts.
Limitations for Event Attendees: Building Hope events are offered free to those who live and/or work in Summit County, CO. In order to provide the most impactful offerings, we sometimes limit attendance to certain targeted ages or genders. These can include men-only or women-only events, along with events restricted only to adult or teen participation. We ask that you please respect these limitations.
Age Restrictions for HYPE Events: Participation in our community events is entirely voluntary. For our teen HYPE events, only those aged 11-18 may participate.
Participation by parents or those not 11-18 at HYPE events will not be permitted.
HYPE events are designed to provide teens with healthy and engaging activities where they can participate independently with their peers in an age-appropriate way. Parent participation changes the dynamic we’ve carefully designed for teen engagement.
When your children are participating in a HYPE event, if you remain on-site, we ask that you remain in a designated space, such as the venue s lobby or parking lot area, with other parents. This location can be clarified for you at the event by our staff if needed.
There are family events that are designed for participation by all family members, in which parents are encouraged to participate along with their children.
Family Event requirements: Family Connectedness Events are designed to bring adults and kids together. At least one parent or trusted adult and one or more youth must attend the Family events together.
Childcare: Unless explicitly stated, no childcare is provided by Building Hope during Community Events.
Cancellations: When your plans change and you are no longer able to attend an event, you must cancel your reservation as soon as possible.
This can be done through Eventbrite or by emailing info@buildinghopesummit.org
Events have ticket quantity limits and often have waitlists. Reserving a ticket that then goes unused prevents others from having the opportunity to attend.
Building Hope retains information about no-shows and may limit future registrations if they happen frequently.
We also cancel any registration for those unqualified to participate in the event, such as those outside of the stated ages or with incomplete registration info. When this happens, you’ll receive an order cancellation.
Staff Focus: Building Hope Staff and Event Facilitators are responsible for the overall event experience. Their interactions are focused on all event participants and ensuring all participants benefit from the event.
To ensure the best experience for all attendees, our staff and facilitators focus their attention on event delivery and participant engagement. We appreciate your understanding of their role limitations during the event.
To ensure a welcoming and safe environment for everyone, we ask that all participants follow the guidelines and expectations outlined by Building Hope above. These are in place to support respectful, inclusive, and meaningful experiences for all.
If an individual is unable to follow these guidelines, Building Hope reserves the right to ask them to leave the event and/or not participate in future events. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us create positive spaces for connection and healing.
