RAVI’S PROVIDER UPDATES
Dear Summit County Mental Health Providers,
Below are updates and resources to help continue supporting you and your practice:
Request for therapists who would like to host a process groups for Building Hope:
Building Hope is looking to provide several different processing groups in order to help community members with anxiety and trauma around COVID-19. We are looking for therapists to provide their expert facilitation for several different groups and address the stress of lockdown in addition to concerns regarding returning to work in this uncertain environment. Some of the groups we are looking to target are: mental health professionals, childcare workers, teachers, frontline workers, etc.
We are willing to provide compensation and are working with several agencies to organize these groups. If you are interested in facilitating a group, please respond to me here.

Screenagers movie screening + prizes
On May 6th, Eagle Valley Behavioral Health (EVBH) will be hosting a special screening of the movie “Screenagers: The Next Chapter”. This film talks about the science behind a teen’s emotional challenges, the interplay of social media and building critical skills to navigate stress, anxiety, and depression in our digital age.
There will be an opportunity for youth to participate in various challenges and win prizes in an effort to make it as interactive as possible. The hope is that families, youth 5th grade and up AND adults, come together to watch the movie and tune in on the panel discussion that will follow next. The movie has Spanish subtitles and there will be interpretation available for the panel discussion.
Please know that registration is required in order to get the movie access code. You can find more information here: https://www.eaglevalleybh.org/get-involved/eat-chat-parent

RSVP for webinar on “Mental Health and COVID-19: How the Pandemic Complicates Current Gaps in Care and What Can Be Done“, hosted by Dialogue4Health.
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has created new challenges and aggravated existing obstacles to mental health care and well-being. Individuals, families, and communities nationwide are grappling with financial insecurity, increased difficulty accessing mental health and substance use care, and an elevated level of overall stress and anxiety. This pandemic also threatens to widen existing disparities in access, treatment, and recovery for mental illness and substance use disorders. All of this culminates into a possible “second wave” of rising mental anguish, addiction, and social dislocation.
This May 6th Web Forum will discuss the unique challenges for mental health in the wake of COVID-19. Attendees will learn about current advocacy efforts to improve the mental health system, what specialized resources in response to the pandemic have been released to date, and what else may be needed.
This Web Forum is recommended for advocates and practitioners in the public health, mental health, and substance use treatment and prevention fields.
Wednesday, May 6, 2020, 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Mtn
