RAVI’S PROVIDER UPDATES

Dear all,

In wake of the police involved shooting last weekend, Building Hope has been helping create community sharing and processing spaces for both teens and the general community.

First, a teen centric gathering is taking place this Thursday, 7/20, from 4-8pm at The Drop and will include a variety of activities with several local therapists holding space and providing support. Light food and refreshments will be provided. (Please find attached both Eng/Spanish language flyers and share widely.)

We are holding a larger community wide gathering next Wednesday, 7/26, at the Community and Senior Center from 5:30-8:30pm. This will include an open dialogue between community members and support agencies. We will also have an open sharing space as part of this event. Therapists will be present to provide support, and resource connection will be taking place simultaneously. There will be speakers from partner organizations such as Rocky Mountain Health Plans, the 988 hotline, and Vail Health Behavioral Health. Dinner and beverages will be provided. (Please find attached both Eng/Spanish language flyers and help us by sharing widely.)

A couple future events to mark on your calendars:

  • Lantern Let-Go event hosted by Summit County Youth in memorial of Charlie Foster
    • Sunday, July 30th at 8pm by Lake Dillon near Summit Cove (Google Maps link here)
    • Lanterns are available for purchase, portion of proceeds will go to Bldg Hope
    • Everyone will light lanterns together and send them off into the sky in order to say goodbye
    • Flyer and event details currently being ironed out, stay tuned for updates
  • Summit County Resource Palooza, August 1st, 3-7pm at the Senior Center
    • (E/S flyers attached)
  • Mental health provider social mixer, Sept 13th, 6-8:30pm at Outer Range Brewing
    • Eventbrite registration will open in August

Lastly, please find attached a consolidated list of local resources available for our youth and general community in accessing mental health supports and services during this difficult time. Feel free to let me know any additions you can think of!

Thank you for all you’re doing to support our community! Please don’t hesitate to reach out in case there’s any way we can continue to support you!

Thanks,
Ravi
