KAF is sponsoring another free CEU opportunity titled “Patient Loss: Risk Management Considerations for Mental Health Providers” on Jan 25th from 11am-1pm. This 2-hour presentation will focus on risk management considerations related to the loss of a patient in a mental health practice. We will discuss general risk management strategies for working with patients at all levels of risk as well as specific strategies for dealing with suicidal patients. Issues of documentation, confidentiality, records requests, and provider self-care in the aftermath of a patient loss will be addressed.

Schools are uniquely positioned to help prevent youth suicide. Partners for Children’s Mental Health (PCMH) is offering two free workshops to help Colorado school districts improve their policies and procedures on intervening with students at risk of suicide and providing support after a suicide loss.
