Don’t be afraid to interview your therapist and even try a session or two. If it doesn’t feel like a fit, that’s okay! Just try another one. The important thing is that after a few sessions, with the right therapist, you should feel comfortable, hopeful and safe. Whether you’re looking for a therapist for someone you love or yourself, therapists can be found at the following locations.
- Summit Community Care Clinic: SCCC is Summit County’s integrated primary care clinic. They not only serve medical needs, but mental health needs as well. SCCC accepts most major insurance and Medicaid. They also have “Care Cards” available to offer services at a discounted rate.
- Vail Health Behavioral Health : VHBH is Summit County’s Community Mental Health Center. They accept all insurances including Medicaid. They also have financial assistance programs available to help individuals afford the cost of treatment.
- Mile High Behavioral Healthcare: MHBHC is an organization that specializes in providing substance use treatment, care for the LGBTQ+ community, and adolescent therapy. They accept Medicaid and have internal sliding scale options as well.
- Private Providers: Summit has many private providers who work individually and not through any agency.
- Tele-therapy: Tele-therapy is a wonderful option for people wanting to connect with a therapist in the privacy of their own home. Tele-therapy CAN BE AS EFFECTIVE as in person therapy. We encourage those who are open to give it a try.
